About

AANHPI AI is a premier advocacy and technology collective dedicated to the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. We serve as a bridge between the rapid evolution of machine learning and the diverse cultural nuances of the AANHPI diaspora, ensuring that the future of technology is equitable, inclusive, and culturally competent.

To empower AANHPI communities by advancing digital literacy, advocating for responsible AI policy, and eliminating algorithmic bias through community-led research and innovation.

Vision

To create a world where AI serves as a catalyst for AANHPI prosperity, preserving cultural heritage while fostering a generation of leaders who define the ethical standards of the digital age.

Training & Education

We provide specialized curriculum focused on AI literacy, prompt engineering, and data ethics tailored for AANHPI professionals and students. Our programs address:

  • Linguistic Inclusion: Training models to better understand and process diverse Asian and Pacific languages.
  • Bias Mitigation: Workshops on identifying and correcting “Model Minority” myths within datasets.
  • AI Workforce Readiness: Upskilling community members for high-growth roles in the tech sector.

May 15, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST: [Flagship] AANHPI AI Summit 2025. Located at the Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. Keynote: “Data Equity in the Diaspora.”

Aug 21, 2025 | 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM PST: Responsible AI Roundtable. Focus: Inclusivity for Pacific Island and Native Hawaiian linguistic models.

Oct 23, 2025 | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST: AANHPI AI Excellence Awards. Annual gala recognizing the year’s top ethical AI innovators.

2026
Jan 28, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM SGT: AAAI-26 Community Track. Collaborative technical session held in conjunction with the AAAI Conference in Singapore.

May 1 – May 31, 2026: AANHPI AI Global Hackathon. Month-long digital competition; Kickoff Event: May 1, 11:00 AM PST.

July 13 – Aug 7, 2026: Summer Youth AI Boot Camp. Daily sessions (Mon–Fri) from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM for high school students.

Oct 15, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST: AANHPI AI Policy Summit. Washington D.C. (White House District). Focus: Federal AI civil rights recommendations.
